Griddles is a free daily word puzzle game where words from a specific category are hidden inside a grid of letters. Your goal is to find all the hidden words, using every single letter in the grid exactly once — no letters left over, and no letters reused.
Unlike crossword puzzles or word searches, Griddles has exactly one correct solution. You might find a valid word that fits, but if it prevents you from completing the rest of the grid, you'll need to rethink your answer. This makes every puzzle a satisfying logic challenge as well as a vocabulary test.
With 18 categories — from Countries and Capital Cities to Pizza Toppings and Chemical Elements — there's something for everyone. Each category has three difficulty levels: Easy (4x4 grid), Normal (5x5 grid with common words), and Hard (5x5 grid with multi-word answers and rarer items). New puzzles are generated every day, so there's always a fresh challenge waiting.
How Griddles Works
Each puzzle presents you with a grid of letters and tells you how many words to find. You tap or click letters to spell words, then submit them. Found words are colour-coded on the grid so you can see which letters are still available. If you get stuck, three hints are available: two that reveal the first letter of an answer, and one that shows the lengths of all remaining words.
Your time is tracked and you're ranked on a daily leaderboard against other players. The fewer hints you use and the faster you solve, the higher you rank. Streaks reward consistency — play every day to build your streak and unlock achievements.

How is Griddles different from Wordle?
While Wordle gives you one puzzle per day, Griddles offers 54 — 18 categories times 3 difficulties. Instead of guessing a single word, you find multiple words hidden in a letter grid where every letter must be used exactly once. What happens if I get stuck?
Three hints are available for each puzzle: two reveal the first letter of an answer, and one shows the word lengths of all remaining answers. Using hints won't disqualify you, but players who solve without hints rank higher on the leaderboard.
